951 - hastighetsmätarfunktion med 6-växlad låda

Hej!

Ställer en fråga här för en god väns räkning.

Han har bytt till 6-växlad låda (968-låda) i sin 951 Silver Rose. För att få hastighetsmätaren att fungera köpte han på inrådan en komplett sats från Lindsey Racing med givare och tandhjul för montering på drivaxel. http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Porsche ... Men efter montage så får vi inget utslag på hastighetsmätaren.

Har någon på forumet erfarenhet av byte till 6-växlat och att få hastighetsmätaren att fungera?

Ok, så det skall vara så tight som 0,8mm? Jag är inte säker på att vi satte så tight. Är inte säker på hur den skall kopplas. Det är tre kabelanslutningar i bilen, en 12V, en jord och en sannolikt till instrumentet. Vi provade på alla kombinationer. Vi anslöt även jorden till chassit.
Vi körde över 30km/h (på lyften).

Verkar som det finns en viss osäkerhet när det gäller inkopplingen?
Har ni nu gjort som du skriver "Vi provade på alla kombinationer" och anslutit plus och minus så kan givaren gått sönder.
Nu kan det skilja på färgkombinationen från mode till modell på ledningarna, men har du:
Grön/vit: +12 volt
Blå/röd: Signal till instrument.
Brun: Ansluts ej.

Jag skrev att brun ledning skulle inte inkopplas. Men på Lindsey står det klart och tydligt att det är +12 volt som inte skall inkopplas. På min -87 hade hastighetsgivaren i växellådan gått sönder och ersatts med givare från Lindsey. Men där har någon koppla enligt någon instruktion. Hastighetsmätaren fungerade med den koppling. Men hur som helst så är det kopplingen på Lindsly som skall följas.
Men visst det är ju inte heller säkert att en färg på en viss ledning stämmer med en ritning
Så såg min koppling ut, men följ inte den. se bild

Svar från Lindsey:

968 Speedometer Drive Kit

Remove the 6 bolts attaching the drive axle to the transmission on the left side. Remove the original dust boot support strips (some have two, some have three) that the bolts passed through. Replace those strips with our 968 two piece cogged drive wheel. Re-install and re-torque the 6 bolts.

You will be required to manufacture a bracket to hold the speed sensor to the transmission as this is not supplied by us at this time.

In this picture, you see a bracket attached to a lug on the transmission. There is a hole on the other end of the bracket that the sensor passes through. The sensor has two jam nuts allowing you to set the gap or distance between the sensor tip and the wheel. Set it to .8mm or approximately .030".

The speed sensor has a round tip in the center about 1/8" in diameter. Position that with your bracket so that is aiming at the outer 1/8" on the cogged drive wheel.

Wiring instructions for Speedo kit:

Cut the original 3 pin connector off that used to clip on to your old transmission's speed sensor. Attach round terminal connectors to the blue/red wire and to brown wire. Connect these to the two terminals on the sensor. It does not matter which terminal the brown and blue/red wires are connected to as the sensor will produce a signal in either orientation.

You should cut and tape the remaining green/white wire as it is a 12V source for the old sensor and we don't want it touching anything.
