Hi!
I have been working on the engine and have noticed that one of the fuel injection lines to the injector is the wrong length, it has been coiled up so that it fits in place and doesn't hang down in the engine. How critical is the length of the injector line to the injector, will it cause problems with the engine if it is too long.
Any help would be appreciated, replies in Swedish not a problem.
Regards - Gary

It shouldn't cause any problem as long as the coiling up doesn't restrict the flow through the line.

Re: 924 Fuel injection lines - Lengths
Patrik - Thanks for the info. I have taken photographs of the engine room and the coiled fuel line.

One thing I have noticed, besides the coil, is the line has a thinner outside diameter, hopefully it has the same inner diameter as I imagine that could cause problems.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a new set of fuel lines.
Regards - Gary

I don't think the different fuel line will cause any problems, but take a look at the spark plugs to see if the cylinder with the different fuel line runs leaner or something.

Re: 924 Fuel injection lines - Lengths
Magnus - thanks for the info and sorry its taken so long to get back with some information. I took all the plugs out, the following are the images
Front

2nd front front

3rd from front*

Rear

The 3rd from front* is the one that has the different fuel line, but the 2nd from front plug is badly oiled up, what would cause this to happen?
Another thing, when I was running the engine in the garage I noticed a rattling noise from the rear of the car, I first throught it was the new exhaust that had loosened a bit but on closer inspection it is coming from the gearbox, sounds like a metal rattle, worrying, will check the oil level in the gearbox tomorrow, hopefully this isn't turning into a lemon of a car, am having so much fun driving it.
Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.
Regards - Gary
