Det finns säker något annat som skiljer också, typ vatten och/eller oljekanaler
If you have a 1989 2.7L (only year 2.7L was made) you can use either S2 or 968 head directly. 2.7L block is the same as 944 S2 one.
If you have a 2.5L block, then just pick up 944 S 16V head.
If you are planning to build a 3.0L turbo with 8V head, two ways to do it. Either use a 2.7L head which is a direct bolt on or have front left corner of the 2.5L head modified.There's a slight difference on water jackets.
If you plan to use 2.7L block with 16V head, pickup also 16V pistons some where, S2 or 968 ones.

Most likely this combo will not work. I have never seen a modified 16V S2 or 958 head for 2.5L block. It's much harder to modify 16V than 8V head to be fit to 2.5L block
